May 2025 Update

New Series this year from Tule Publishing!

Hi friends! I hope Spring/Summer is full on happening where you live and that you’re finding time to do all the things you’ve been itching to do outside after a cold winter. I’m so excited for you to meet this new family I’ve created and hope you’ll love them as much as I do. There’s one for each season. All four books released this last year so the whole series is available now on your favorite booksales sites. The first book in my new The Hardestys of Montana series is called ‘The Cowboy’s Bride and is set on the Hard Eight Ranch in Marietta, Montana.

It’s a runaway bride rescue kind of story that was just so fun to write. Isabella Stanton comes from money in Dallas Texas and when the wedding of her mother’s dreams turns into a humiliating debacle, Isabella has only one choice: Run. She enlists the help of their hot, shockingly protective, former-NFL player limo driver, Will Hardesty to help her escape and together they embark on a cross-country journey that will change both their lives forever. If you enjoy grumpy/sunshine stories with fun, fake relationship scenarios and happy endings, you’re going to love this one.

All books are out in paperback as well as digital.

Book 2 is Cowboy Don’t Go is Shay Hardesty’s story. She’s Will Hardesty’s twin sister and it’s a second chance story with her old crush, Cooper Lane, who returns to Marietta after a long exile in Texas. His well-respected father was falsely imprisoned for cattle rustling and he’s spent the last eight years trying to clear his name. Now he’s a horse trainer/whisperer working for the Hardestys and even as he and Shay fight their old attraction, long held secrets threaten to destroy not only the family, but any future they might have together.

Book 3 is The Cowboy’s Miracle Baby and belongs to Cami Hardesty, the youngest of the four Hardestys. She’s the fixer, the mediator, the make-everyone-happy one who has trouble saying no. She meets the temporary fill-in large animal vet Gus Claymore, a widower, and his little girl, Ella at Christmastime when they find an abandoned baby together in the church where she’s directing the Christmas pageant. This discovery throws them together in the search for the birth mom and will end up being a little Christmas miracle in all their lives. Don’t you just love this cover? This one was a finalist in Australia’s ARRA’s (Member’s Choice) Reader Awards! So honored to be recognized for this book.

Book 4 and the last in the series is “The Way to a Cowboy’s Heart” and it belongs to Liam Hardesty and Emily Quinn. She’s an ex-pat Wall Street wonk/gourmet cook living in NYC whose world just happens to fall apart on the same day she runs into Montana cowboy, Liam Hardesty on NY subway. He’s on a much-needed break from the ranch, but it couldn’t be worse timing to accidentally run into and in the next moment lose your soulmate! But fate steps in for Liam and Emily, and they meet again at a Valentine’s Day dinner party she’s throwing for his local friends. Their brief encounter turns into a long-distance flirtation as she struggles to find work again, but up against her expiring work visa and a ticking clock, she decides to risk her wary heart one last time with a visit to Liam’s ranch and the chance that there is something more than hope that he could be her future. This book has stayed with me and I loved writing it and wrapping up the series here. I loved all my characters, but somehow, these two were special.

So, often I’m asked what inspires my books. This whole series came to me out of this first story, to be honest. First, the idea of marrying the wrong person, as Isabella nearly does and how do you learn to listen to your gut instincts? Also, this idea that a generational family ranch in Montana that was struggling (who isn’t?) to make things work and a family, though fractured, comes together to create a whole new future for themselves. And in the end, it’s working together and finding a way across that broken road that leads them each to love as well.

Meanwhile, here’s a pic of me (in the cap) doing some research on falconry at the local Rennaissance Fair here in Texas. Isn’t she a beauty? I have always been fascinated by falcons and I’m probably dating myself by admitting the origins might have been the 1985 movie Ladyhawk, with Michelle Phiffer. Have you ever seen it? Sigh. Anyway, you’ll probably notice that I’m an animal lover and animals find their way into all of my books. These books are no exceptions and animals factor heavily into each of these stories. Just because. You’re welcome!

I so appreciate your time and interest in visiting me here and please feel free to contact me through this website or just leave me a review on any of the book purchase sites. Any and all are appreciated.

Love, Barbara
